By George Pence–
My father passed away last month.
While seated next to his bed, and a few hours before his passing, I took this photo of his hand.
Next to a person’s face, their hands are the most expressive and emblematic part of their person.
With Dad, this authentic expression of his personality was given added emphasis by a ring and a watch.
It is hard to imagine him without some sense of schedule or agenda. For him a room without a clock, or a person without a watch were inconceivable.
And then there’s that wedding ring. This simple band signified a marriage that lasted over seventy years.
He was a man who kept both his appointments and his promises.
He was well loved.
